PLR is a commonly used abbreviation for Private Label Rights. There are writers and companies who will generate unique content and make it available for others to reproduce and use as they wish. I’ll introduce you to one towards the end of this article.

Typically, high quality PLR material is released in limited quantities… the limited amount makes the content more valuable, as most marketers believe that search engines will impose penalties for duplicated content. Some PLR content is more widely distributed, although you may find that many other people are using it as well, so it’s value might be a little lower. Widely distributed PLR can still be useful to the resourceful marketer or writer, however… you can always treat the content as a “general structure”, and rewrite or re-purpose the material so that it’s unique and still suits you.

How can you use PLR material?

There are many good ways to leverage PLR content to help you with your work online. Here are a couple of ways that you can put PLR to work for you:

    * If you manage websites that are keyword oriented, you can find PLR content that matches your topic.

    * You can create an ebook with PLR content… ebooks are great because they can be downloaded and read offline. Ebooks can also be branded with your web address so that readers can be reminded to visit your website whenever they read the book.

    * If you have an autoresponder, like AWeber, you can use PLR content to create an entire e-course. Your e-course can be programmed to deliver daily, weekly, or at any interval you need. An e-course is a good bonus to use to give your readers an incentive to join your opt-in system.

Best Practices

In general, if you plan to use PLR material on your blog or website, it’s best to treat it as if it’s actually going to be duplicate content. You won’t find content out there that’s being offered with reprint rights where you’re the exclusive end user… you’ll need to hire your own writer for that. If you’re going to incorporate PLR in your blog or website, it’s always a good idea to tweak the content a little bit. You can edit the article for conversational style to sound more like you, or you can change sentence structure or wording to make it a unique piece. As a general rule, any article that’s been re-purposed or changed by 30% or more can be constituted as a unique work.

If you use PLR for an ebook or an auto-responder, you don’t need to change it due to duplicate content concerns… your downloadable ebook or e-course aren’t indexed by search engines, so you won’t need to worry about being penalized. However, you should still edit and change the content a little bit so it’s unique, and here’s why… in order to offer value to your readers, you’ll want them to get a product that’s unique and not something they can find elsewhere. Theoretically, you could copy PLR content word for word and create a product from it, but if your reader has a true interest in the topic, then there’s a good chance that they may find the same material someplace else, and that could create a credibility issue for you and turn the reader off to your material.

As you are sitting there, reading this article, you can think of some of the reasons you have for writing a novel.

Maybe you have a powerful message that needs to be heard. Perhaps you have an inspiring story that you are certain will move many to take action to not only vastly improve their lives, but to help others as well. Maybe you’ve been a consumer of wonderful stories your whole life, and now you’ve decided to become a producer.

Whatever your reasons are, embrace them as your own. Accept them, appreciate them, increase and amplify them. Because they more you increase your desire, the more likely you will get started on what is perhaps the most important project of your life.

Many people have dreams of writing a novel, and getting published, but few ever take sufficient action to actually make it happen. Because you are reading this, you are likely one of the few that will follow through on your dreams of becoming a published novelist. For all the reasons you’d like to do this, what is the biggest one that comes to mind? When you think of this reason, what pictures and sounds are associated with this reason?

Having a strong, specific desire to achieve something that you can visualize on a regular basis can be the deciding factor in whether or not your dream becomes a reality, or stays only a dream. The more specific you make your reason for becoming a best selling novelist, the easier it will be to do just that.

What do you see yourself doing after you have been successfully published? What do you hear people say to you? What do you feel? Many people like to feel a pen in their hand as they are signing copies of their book in bookstore, while they happily look up and see the line of happy readers waiting their turn. Others choose to hear the voice of their agent on the phone, saying something like “Congratulations! One more week on the bestseller list!” Others choose to visualize their name, and the title of the book in a newspaper article.

When you think of you reasons to become a bestselling novelist, and turn those reasons into specific pictures, sounds and feelings, you are well on the way of becoming one of the rare few that can turn your dreams into reality.

And you can begin to imagine how wonderful that will be when that happens can’t you?

Because you can imagine what it will be like when you inevitably become successful, you can naturally take advantage of this opportunity. Find out why so many are discovering just how naturally profitable this can be when you visit

Topics: article writing, article marketing, writing articles, how to write articles

Have you eaten stale crackers, recently? Not long ago, I rushed into a little neighborhood grocery store to grab a few things. One of the items I grabbed was a box of crackers. I rushed home, prepared dinner, pulled out the box of crackers and bit into one. It was stale! You know; it tasted like paper, dry, no crisp. The salt had even lost its saltiness.

Speaking of stale, are you making the mistakes that stamp S.T.A.L.E. on your articles? If you’re anything like the writer when she first began writing articles, you could be making some simple mistakes that will hinder the success of your article.

No worries; now you don’t have to make those same mistakes, you can put a stop to little mistakes that makes your article writing S.T.A.L.E. in a big way. Here are 5 mistakes and how to avoid them written into a S.T.A.L.E. acronym. Put them into action and receive trailer truck loads more article sales and triple times the success you were expecting.

1.	Soul Mistake: Article written with no soul or passion.
Write with all the professionalism you can muster but write from the heart. Write with passion; write with soul. Strategically place your statistics and famous quotes but don’t be stuffy with your language. Your readers may think you are talking down to them if you use too many technical terms and professional jargon.

2.	Teachable moments. Article written without utilizing teachable moments.
There are two main reasons people read. One of those reasons we read is to be educated. Take advantage of the teachable moments from your life. It will make your article more interesting. Remember, the stale cracker moment above. The author tied it in with the staleness our writing can have.

3.	Amplification Mistake: Article written with no dramatic stories or illustrations.
It’s true the details are important. But in article writing the details can be boring. Make your article eventful. Focus on the events. Then amplify or turn the volume up on the events of your article. Do include the details but dramatize your stories or embellish your stories as much as you can.

4.	Life lessons: Article written with no practical applications.
Use your life lessons in your article. Educate your readers with the lessons you’ve learned along the way in life. Don’t get me wrong; don’t bog your reader down with your personal details. Sprinkle them in with good taste. Make sure you strategically place them so they make sense in the flow of the article. An author friend created a life lesson section with a practical application of each main principle.

5.	Empathy Mistake: Article written with no personal connection with reader.
Do you connect with your reader emotionally? You should express empathy with your reader and their problems. Empathy is the capability to share and understand another’s emotions and feelings. It is often characterized as the ability to “put oneself into another’s shoes.” Let them know you’ve walked where they’ve walked. Or you are in close relationship with someone who has and you understand their feelings and emotions.

Without writing a compelling article filled with: passion and soul, teachable moments, dramatic stories, life lessons and an emotional connection your message may never reach the audience it’s destined to reach. Avoid writing a S.T.A.L.E. article filled with the mistakes above; capture the interest of your audience and get your article read. Best wishes for your success!

Don’t wait any longer! Remember, there’s an audience waiting to read what you have written. Why not get started writing your articles today? Do you need additional help to write a compelling article that avoids any S.T.A.L.E. writing mistakes?

Topics: fiction, novel, bestseller, thriller fiction, suspense thriller, historical

Because you are reading this article, you are interested in writing a novel. Perhaps you have a vague idea; perhaps you’ve got a well thought out story structure, perhaps you’ve even written several hundred pages of draft.

Whatever stage you are in writing your novel, you have decided to take some of your creative ideas and turn them into something tangible. Something that others will hopefully read and enjoy. Many people can easily realize that one of the greatest sources of pleasure is a gripping novel. There is not reason why the next novel they read can’t be yours.

One of the most important things in creating an engaging story is developing strong characters. If you think back, now, to some of the characters you found particularly engaging, you’ll realize they had certain qualities. Some qualities that you admired, and others that you thought were perhaps less than desirable. The secret is to create characters that will hold peoples attention, and create in your readers a deep desire to see your characters succeed.

To do this, your characters must be just like you. Real issues, real limitations, and real strengths.
It’s nice to read about a comic book superhero that always kills the bad guy in the end, but there is a reason those are only in comic books, where they story only lasts a few pages of mostly pictures.

In a book, just like the one you are creating, your characters must carry your reader’s interest to the very end. Because you have taken steps in the process of creating your literary work, you likely can acknowledge this. And when you think back to some of the most moving characters you’ve enjoyed in the past, you will realize that their issues are just as human as yours.

Issues that you face on a daily basis are the same ones that everybody else has. Giving an inside scoop of the human condition. An inside scoop that you can transform into breathtaking conflict and the success of overcoming obstacles.

The more you get in touch with all those times in the past where you’ve met with struggles and prevailed, the easier it will be to provide your readers with characters that do the same things.

Because of that, you have an inside secret into the mind of your characters. Their hopes, their dreams, their fears, their anxieties can be just the same as yours. When you create a character that is as real as yourself, you’ve got a winner on your hands.

Because you can imagine what it will be like when you inevitably become successful, you can naturally take advantage of this opportunity. Find out why so many are discovering just how powerful this can be when you visit

Topics: thriller, suspsense, thriller, novel, bestseller, new novel

As you are sitting there, reading this, you can imagine all the reasons why you want to become a successful writer or novelist. Maybe because you have a great inspiration that you know on a deep level will inspire thousands of people. Maybe you have a fantastic idea for a story that you know will be successful. Maybe your story simply needs to be told.

Whatever is most important to you when you think about becoming a successful writer, there is also something that is holding you back. Maybe it is something specific, maybe it is just a fuzzy uncomfortable feeling you get whenever you start to write.

Maybe it is one of many ways that self-doubt manifests itself, in the form of fear. Maybe somebody told you that you don’t have the “gift.” Maybe somebody alluded that you don’t have enough “talent.” Perhaps somebody suggested that you don’t have the right “voice.”

Pure, absolute, nonsense. You do have enough gift, talent, voice, whatever it was they said you didn’t have to be successful. Because you are reading this now, you have the desire, the burning desire to become a successful writer.

And that desire is all you really need. From that desire will flow all of the necessary skill development, strategies, and inspiration. From that desire will flow the creativity you need to captivate and command the imaginations of all those that will read your work.

From that desire, that desire that you can feel right now as you read this is all you need to fire your intention to create whatever you want to create, in exactly the way you’d like to create it.

Just like any other skill, the best way to improve is to simply do it. Do you think Tiger Woods hit a hole in one when he first started taking shots? Did Jordan sink his first free throw?

They struggled when they began, and so will you. But the one thing that separates the doers from the dreamers is persistence. Because you know you will consistently get better with time, you can understand the importance of writing every day.

Write something every day, and publish it somewhere. Anywhere. On a blog, on an Internet forum, on this site. The more you write and publish, the more those false beliefs of inadequacy will vanish. Every day will be one day closer to that success that you are dreaming of, for all of those reasons that are important to you.

Taking the first step is sometimes the hardest for some. Because you can imagine what it will be like when you become successful, you can take advantage of this opportunity. You’ll find out just how easy that is when you visit www.georgehutton.net

Topics: small business writing, business writing advice, writing advice

When it comes to communicating online, many people think that the rules have changed. Shorter attention spans, eye strain and a general overabundance of information online have lead to sloppy writing and poor article construction. If you are a small business owner or are developing an Internet marketing business, you’ll need to learn how to write for the web and write well.

If you feel your writing leaves something to be desired, don’t worry…you’re in good company. In (title of the paper or book this story is from), Benjamin Franklin shares a story of his quest to improve his writing style. Although his father commended him on his spelling and grammar, his style left much to be desired. Even though Franklin lived centuries before the Internet his own experience with learning to write well can help you present yourself better online.

In his account of improving his writing Franklin makes it clear that the mechanics of his writing were fine. He just needed improvement in his style. This shows that no matter what type of writing you are doing, style is important. Your blog posts, articles for back links and website text should all have a style all your own.

If you feel like you need to develop your style more completely, you can follow the same steps that Benjamin Franklin did in order to improve his style.

1. Read good writing.

Your mind is like a sponge. It will pick up whatever it is exposed to and store it for future use. Unless you spend a lot of time reading good writing, you’ll have no idea how to create writing with great style. Make it a habit to read articles and blog posts from well written people in your niche. Even better yet, start reading articles from trade magazines in your industry. A lot of poor writing gets passed off online, but with a full editorial staff most magazine articles have terrific style. Find a few short articles that inspire you and that you can use to improve your style.

2. Do writing exercises to mimic the style of the articles.

Once you’ve selected a few articles, try to rewrite them from memory. Read the articles several times and then rewrite them one at a time from memory. This will help you internalize the flow and the style of the writing. Do this several times to see how well you remember the article and mimic the style.

3.	Correct your writing as needed.

The most important part of the process is to go back through the original article and see where you made mistakes. Maybe you left out an important point or didn’t handle a transition particularly well. The point is not to punish yourself or think badly about your writing. You just need to correct your writing to improve your style.

It may take you some time to develop a style of your own and improve your writing. But it will be well worth it when you can communicate well online.

Topics: writing, publishing, e-book, mistakes, author

When you’re deciding to write a book, a few things come to mind. You’ll want to determine your core audience, your topics, and how you might eventually go about selling your book. Both printed books and ebooks are an art form, both of which can be enhanced with a few guidelines. Unlike websites, a book has a lifespan that takes it from rough draft to final version where the words will stay the same. More care will probably be taken to make sure the completed book has longevity and relevance.

While these guidelines don’t have to be followed every time, they will help improve your book, whether it is intended for hard copy or reading online. The key is to focus on great content and then make the layout of your book as reader friendly as possible.

Do: Hire an Editor - An editor’s job is to polish up the manuscript and act as a second pair of eyes. A great editor will correct grammatical mistakes, enhance word choices, and verify any questions, while also improving the overall language and keeping the writing style consistent. Having an editor look over your work will also help you find anything you may have overlooked. Plus, it never hurts to have a professional read it over. If you can’t afford to hire editor, at least have someone with good English skills take a look.

Don’t: Use too Many Fun Fonts - The rule of thumb is usually no more than two fonts on a page. And it is even better when you take one font, use it consistently, and use the italic and bold versions rather than introducing more fonts that might make the page messy and hard to read. So many great books become an eye sore when they are laid out with all kinds of curly fonts and distractions on the page. Remember the most important part is the content, not the fancy decorations. In the end you should have a pdf file with pages that are easy to read, whether printed or on the web.

Do: Engage Your Reader - Remember those boring history books that sound more like computer program instructions then crucial reading material? Well, you probably have forgotten them, but don’t let people forget your book. Make it unforgettable by using the same tools that storytellers use. Just because your book is explaining tips on how to build a website does not mean it has to be boring. Think of creative ways to propel your reader forward. Keep them reading with language that is engaging. End each chapter with a hook to start the next one. Use questions with fill in the blank spaces to make it more interactive.

Don’t: Be Sloppy with Layout - Just like websites, a book that has pages that are overcrowded with text or a sloppy layout will be hard to navigate. Most books have a series of chapters, paragraphs that are indented, headings, and a readable font. The most important thing is to be consistent with layout. If one chapter title is in all caps, make them all that way. Using one-inch margins will provide enough white space around the edges. If you are including pictures, consider putting a box around them or arranging them thoughtfully. Remember, once a book is printed, you can’t log back in and change it like you can with a website. So, make it look nice from the start.

Do: Have a Great Cover - While you don’t have to hire a designer, at least try to create a few mock up covers and have your friends or colleagues help you decide which one to use. Things to put on the cover include your company logo, your first and last name, and of course, a great title that is easy to read. If you have too long of a title, try to shorten it, or use the additional words as a subtitle. And just like any book or magazine cover, the cover can have extra information that might entice readers, like “turn to page 50 for secrets to a great PR campaign,” or a subtitle like “Everything you need to know about investing but were afraid to ask.” Sometimes a simple cover really comes to life with wording that suggests action.

One of the biggest blocks to completing that bestselling novel that you know you have in you, getting it published and into the hands of thousands of happy readers is your own self limiting beliefs.

The source of writers block, procrastination, endless excuses you give yourself for not following through on your idea that you are certain (and rightly so) is as good, if not better, than what is already out there, is the same. That nagging sense of self-doubt that creeps up on you when you are alone with your thoughts and your word processor.

Whether it is a feeling, an uncomfortable sense or sensation, or even a specific voice that you can hear, it all boils down to the same thing. We all, on some level, have the same limiting belief.

I’m not good enough.

Now I don’t know if this is due to some cosmic struggle we must all go through so that we can find joy in overcoming it, or just some byproduct of the way humans are through evolution or creation, but that nagging thought is the same.

Most people try their best to avoid it. Ignore it. Hope it goes way. Cover it up with alcohol, drugs, and endless hours in front of the TV with sacks of one-dollar burgers.

But not you.

You are a writer. You are somebody that has made a decision that your thoughts and ideas and creative insights are important enough to not only to write down, but also to stir and inspire the emotions of others.

You are destined to transform your thoughts and ideas into words and paragraphs and pages that will inspire thousands, if not millions of people. Because you are reading this, you realize that you have a gift. You have something, a story, a message, which needs to be shared with others.

There are several ways to rid yourself of this nagging, seemingly never-ending self-limiting beliefs and ideas. You can avoid them through procrastination, and non-productive activities. You can ignore them, and hope that they go away, although deep down you probably know the truth.

You must meet this self-doubt head on. The best way to do this is simple. Write and publish every day. On a blog, on your website, on an Internet forum. Every article or essay your write and publish will chip away at that nagging self limiting voice until it is gone for good. Then you will be really free to express yourself without quarter, and share your creativity with the world.

Because you can imagine what it will be like when you inevitably become successful, you can naturally take advantage of this opportunity. Find out why so many are discovering just how naturally profitable this can be when you visit

Topics: email marketing, email ad blasters, subject line, ezines

Read anything about email marketing today in forums and you will probably come across loads of people that believe that marketing products through any of the forms of email marketing has lost all effectiveness.

Whether you publish a newsletter or ezine, use email or ad blasters or publish your emails to safe lists the statistics are not too encouraging. Less than two percent of many emails are ever even opened. This is not true for everybody though…

There are some very successful business people out there marketing products and services and even mlm programs using email marketing methods almost exclusively. Obviously these emails are getting opened!

So what is the difference?

How do they do what so many cannot?

The answer must be centered on the emails subject line or headline. The truth is that if your email is getting deleted without even being opened, the subject line just is not doing its job.

What is the job of the subject line? The only purpose it could possibly serve is to motivate someone to open and read the email message. If the email does not get opened then there was simply not enough interest generated to motivate someone to open the message. This is the “sale” of the headline.

A highly effective subject line will jump out at your reader and tell them not just something about the topic of your email, but also that they will be missing out on something if they fail to read it immediately! Whether you are talking about information, income or even some sort of secret, they should feel like they can not possibly get it if they do not read this email right now.

It almost goes without saying that this kind of subject line needs to stand out from all of the others in the recipients inbox, so using someone elses prewritten headline that hundreds or thousands of others could be using is obviously not a good idea. Originality is key in this respect!

You can easily prove this to yourself. Think back to any recent major product launch. After the first barrage, did you open any of the duplicate emails you got in your own inbox? Of course not! Why would you? But I bet that you opened some others about that launch that somehow motivated you with this very method. You thought you would be missing out if you did not open that email.

Approach the product or service you are promoting from a different perspective than you see others doing. This is easier than it sounds if you do your homework. Find something about the offer that solves a problem that you have faced, and exploit that. Let the subject line you write tell them this could be their last opportunity to solve this problem ever.

Another great tactic is to either tune into a controversy surrounding the topic, or to create one. Use statements like: “The Founder’s Have Signed Affidavits Stating This Software Is 100% Legal!” This has been used before to great effect. Use your imagination and you will find dozens of possibilities. Anything that portrays the topic as cutting edge, radically different or borderline “Black Hat” is highly effective and motivating.

If you succeed in getting across that your prospect will miss out on vital information by failing to read your message, your subject line will succeed and your email will get opened…

One thing that sets breathtakingly gripping novels apart from the rest is solid characters. Sure, the overall plot and story line is important, but a character can really drive a story into the minds of millions. There’s a reason why so many successful novelists write novel after novel with the same character in different adventures.

A strong character is somebody that the reader can identify with. A character has traits that separate him or her from the rest of the hacks, but at the same time they have weaknesses similar to the audience so that that reader can vicariously travel with the character along his or her journey, and really feel the pain and fear and triumph when they eventually overcome the obstacles. When you think of some popular characters from popular culture, you can recognize this.

So how do you develop a character with powerful strengths, but at the same time give them weaknesses that threaten to stand in the way of their victory? How do you create such a compelling character that your readers will stay up way past their bedtime reading about them, rooting for them, and even shedding tears for them? How can you create such memorable characters that your readers won’t be able to wait until your next novel comes out?

Easy. You are human, right? Of course you are. Think of some of your common fears and anxieties. When you do this you’ll realize that they are the same fears and anxieties held by most people. Are you strong enough? Are you capable enough? When the time comes, will you be able to do the right thing?

One way to make these “weaknesses” believable is to create a reason for your character to have them. For example, if you character has trouble expressing his or her emotions, create a situation in their past where they were hurt really bad from doing so. Maybe the first girl they asked out laughed at them in front of everybody at school, or they proposed to their girlfriend in high school only to get rejected.

You don’t need to explain this in any detail in your story, but when you have a good idea of why your characters are the way they are, they will be much more real to your readers. So real that your publisher may likely demand that you sign a book deal to write at least three more books with the same characters, in different adventures. Then you know you’ve really got a winner.

Taking the first step is sometimes the hardest for some. Because you can imagine what it will be like when you become successful, you can take advantage of this opportunity. You’ll find out just how easy that is when you visit www.georgehutton.net
